A small team that reads indicators for a living, and explains them for free.
Economic Signals is published by renalwds.com, an independent editorial project based in Slovakia. We write and curate educational material about the economic indicators that make headlines.
Our story
Economic Signals began in 2021 as a set of internal reference notes used to prepare summaries of monthly data releases for colleagues without a statistics background. We noticed how much of the confusion came from unfamiliar methodology rather than the numbers themselves, and decided to publish plain explanations openly.
Since then, the project has grown into a library of guides covering employment data, sentiment surveys, yield curves and the difference between leading and lagging indicators. We remain a small, editorially independent team and are not affiliated with any statistics agency, bank, or financial institution.
Editorial principles
Neutral framing
We explain what an indicator measures and how it behaves, without predicting where it's headed.
Honest about noise
We flag revisions, seasonal adjustments and common misreadings rather than presenting a single number as gospel.
No paid services
We do not sell forecasts, trading signals, or any other paid product.
